Breakout Performance: Five Key Values, Leadership, and Your Success

The one significant change found in the 2016 Scrum Guide was the addition of the Scrum Values. These values are commitment, courage, focus, openness, and respect. Regardless of what methodology is in use (Scrum, Waterfall, Spiral, XP, RAD, etc.) these values matter. They drive productivity in technology teams - or are responsible for the lack of it.

During this interactive session, Matt McBride will discuss the realities and challenges of leading technically talented individuals. In many cases, these resources do not practice these values at work – particularly since they may have spent many years working in a “throw it over the wall” environment. Unless we help them learn, adapt, and grow our teams cannot succeed.

During this session, Matt will describe the lessons he and his teams have learned over multiple enterprise level transformations. Additionally, he will discuss innovative techniques to engage teams to achieve greater productivity and live out these values. Matt will describe how teams can quickly adopt a common language and repeatable solutions (leadership patterns) that will drive career growth, dramatic improvements in productivity, and customer satisfaction.
